Matagorda Bay Nature Park
Located at the mouth of the Colorado River, the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Matagorda Bay Nature Park provides recreation, education and relaxation. Their
facilities include a natural science center, public fishing piers, wildlife viewing platforms, a pavilion, playground, kayak trails, rest rooms with outdoor showers, RV camp sites and a learning center with meeting facilities. Trained staff offers a variety of programs to schools, Scouts and any other group that is interested in understanding the Matagorda Bay eco-environment. LCRA provides energy, water and community services to the people of Texas. The Matagorda Bay Nature Park is part of a network of 40 LCRA parks and recreation areas throughout the lower Colorado River basin. Jetty Park
Jetty Park is a Matagorda County park that provides access to Matagorda Beach, Jetties and the Colorado River. There is no usage or entry fee. There is a paved parking lot, and bathrooms. FM521 Park
FM521 Park is located on the banks of the Colorado River where FM521 crosses the river. This is small park but there is a fishing pier and a boat ramp that provides paddling and fishing access to the Colorado River upstream of Matagorda. Riverside Park
On the bank of the Colorado River, this park features 40 campsites with full-service RV hookups. Other facilities include jogging trail with a 10-station exercise course along the way, boat ramp, day pavilion, and fishing. Adjacent to the park is Rio Colorado Golf Course, a beautiful 18-hole, Gary Player-designed course. From Bay City, take Texas 60 south; turn right on F.M. 2668, and the park is two miles west on the right. Oyster Lake Park
